Living Room: Before.

We have finally started the process of revamping our home before we move in. Hooray! Right now, our wood floors are getting refinished. I know they don't look bad in the photo but they were really worn down in many spots. There were a few minor set backs (as there always are). We got a call from the floor guys letting us know that a portion of our dining room was not hardwood under the rug. So some more money and a bit more time later, we are going full steam ahead.

Once they are done, we are going in to paint the living room.  All of the walls & trim will be white, including the bookcase. I'm hoping it will make the fireplace the focal point as well as add contrast. The exposed beams on the ceiling will be the only wood that will not get painted.

We are waiting until after the holidays to tackle some of the projects but I would love it if we could get Scarlett's room and the living room accomplished before Christmas when our families are coming to stay with us for the holidays. I was a bit saddened to learn that my new sectional will not be in before Christmas so we will be using our old furniture until it comes in. We literally have less than two weeks to get our floors done, paint, move things from our Massachusetts home AND our New York house, and get everything unpacked and in place. wish us luck! (We'll need it!)

After Photos To Come...
