Lately.

It's the most wonderful time of the year!

Yes, I have already started listening to Christmas music. I love this time of year so much that I start decorating on November 1st. Yes, I know that Thanksgiving comes first. As I see it, it's all part of the holidays. Family, love, Christmas lights, holiday cookies & desserts, delicious food, and warm toasty fireplaces. Speaking of fireplaces, our new place has one. Ahhhhh, joy. (smiling as I write this)

We have been busy trying to get everything prepared for the new house. We move in the beginning of December. I would love to have my family over for Christmas. The last couple of years we have traveled back and spent the holidays with them but this year, I really want to have it at our new home. This means that we have a lot to do in a short period of time. I am not stressed about this one bit. I'm extremely excited! But there is much to be done. First off, we have zero furniture. The houses that we have been living in were all furnished & we can't completely empty our place back in Mass. So I have been on the hunt for furniture. I've been refurbishing some pieces that I found on Craigslist; Sanding them down and giving them a fresh new look. Posts on those to come. On top of that, I've been putting together mood boards for the new place. Trying to get an idea of what I want this place to look like. Our floors will be refinished and the walls will be painted before we move in.

This weekend, Ty was away for MC things. I took Scarlett to visit Santa's reindeer. With such curiosity, she spent a good hour with them. Children came and left. Still, there stood Scarlett talking to the "reindee" in fascination. We also took some time to visit the Library and take in some artwork. My peanut girl is becoming quite the talker lately. I love this. She can now tell me what she wants. I'm proud to say that my little miss says please and thank you. She is by far the sweetest little girl, I have ever come across. I love that she has a heart of gold. Hugs & kisses from this sweet pea melt my heart everyday.

I miss Ty. He's gone a lot with all of the things that he has going on. Work, Boxing, and firefighting now. He's a hard worker and that is a good quality. I'd just like to see his hardworking face more often. He makes up for it when we are together. He dotes upon me, gives me his undivided attention, has romantic dinners with me and spends time with Scarlett. I am extremely lucky that I have a love that comes home after a long, hard day at work and is excited to give Scarlett a bath. Sometimes, I save little things for him to do because it gives him a chance to bond with her. And it gives me a little "me" time. Scarlett is such an easy toddler. She seems so much more grown up to me then others her age. She is my little side kick. She does everything with me. She brushes her teeth with me, puts her shoes on as I do, pretends to cook when I do, wants make up brushes when I do my make up, and lays down with me when I'm lounging on the couch. It's amazing to see her become not only a toddler, but a tiny person with likes and dislikes, preferences and characteristics.

Life is really good lately. I have to make note to pick up the Rebel more often.

  1. Your daughter I swear is the best dressed child I have ever seen! I am jealous! Living in Florida, I can't dress my youngest in these clothes... she would seriously ROAST her butt off!

And lucky you to have a fireplace! We have a heater that we never have to run HAHAHAHA! I consider 70 degree FREEZING!

    I am lame!

    Have a great weekend :)

  2. I LOVE Christmas too! I thought I was the only one who enjoyed listening to Christmas music before Thanksgiving. I actually just set up the Christmas lights outside, although I don't think I'll turn them on till after Thanksgiving to prevent the stares from the neighbors.

Hope you're having a great weekend.
