The Great Outdoors.

There is something so calming and therapeutic about being out in the great outdoors.
The last few weekends, we have been on a hiking kick.
Ty has been buying camping and hiking gear for our future outdoor adventures.
We plan to do some camping next spring and hopefully a lot of hiking this fall into winter.
Maybe even buy some snow shoes.

Sunday is Ty's one day off and so that leaves little time for family stuff. Last weekend, Ty got out of work early on Saturday and we headed to Massachusetts to celebrate my dad's birthday. My dad is the type of guy who loves to be outdoors.
So that's what we did. We had a lunch and then
we took him hiking up SugarLoaf Mountain, close to my sister's home in Western MA.
The terrain was steep and it was a pretty good work out on the legs.
When we made it to the top, the sun was just setting. It was so beautiful.
Despite the windy breeze, the beauty was just awesome.
I was kicking myself that I didn't bring my Canon Rebel. (All I have to share are these iPhone pics)

The hike was followed by pie and family time.
The perfect combination for a great day.

  2. Hiking is one of my favorite things to do, especially in the fall when the leaves are changing colors. Looks like a lot of fun!
