This Year's Love.

I was thinking about the New Year and my wishes for it. Most of my New Year Resolutions go something like this:
1. Bring Scarlett on day trips
2. Be More Patient
3. Learn Something new
4. Finish my book
5. Work out & eat healthy

A couple of days ago,  I came across this quote through a friend:

"Your children will become who you are; so be who you want them to be."
                                             -anonymous

It made me stop.... All of a sudden I became more aware.
We can teach our children whatever we believe is best.
We can tell them time and time again how they are supposed to act and how they should behave.
It doesn't matter.

They are watching us & becoming us.
When I found out that I was pregnant with Scarlett, I had many fears.
Honestly, this was not one of them.
But now, looking at my 20 month old little girl, mocking my every move, I realize that out of all the fears & worries, I should have been most concerned with who I am, not with who she is.
Because as the quote says, we are their examples...their heroes.

I'm working on me this year.
Trying to  better myself into someone that I want my child(ren) to become.

To be a better person. To love strong and unconditionally.
This year, my resolution is to fill life with love & be the person that I want Scarlett to be.

What are your New Year resolutions?
Happy New Year all!!
xoxo

  1. Beautifully said Lauren :) One of my resolutions is to slow down, especially for my little girl and enjoy all of the 'firsts' that are still yet to happen...
