Summer 2022 has been sweet...

I have so many fun memories this past summer. As I prepare to get these kiddos off to school again, I looked back on all the great photos that I captured and they hold good times within them. Scarlett did a few summer camps including, horse camp, Gymnastics Camp and Seaworld Camp. Maxwell got his much needed "down time". He's my homebody and he needs that extra time to just do simple things that make him happy. Vera spent the summer with me also, and now she starts spending more days with our Nanny. We also added a doggie to our family. Mr. Benny joined us and is now towering over the other 2 mini/moyen goldendoodles. He's a standard. These pics are from just a short couple months ago!

This is the first summer that I felt like I got to spend time doing things with the kids. Planning some fun things and I actually HAD the time to spend with them. I remember being so sad as a full time working mom, summer would come and I knew that just meant more time in daycare for them. So thankful for the freedom to do more with them this year. Such a huge difference from years prior and it's well-deserved!! We also got to spend 3 glorious weeks back in the Northeast at our Lakehouse and visiting family/friends. I have an entire post on that coming shortly. This will become a yearly ritual for us each summer. By July I am ready to leave the heat for a bit and get back to some cool weather so it seems perfect that we make this a tradition. I also may make a couple trips back solo before next summer, by myself ;)

Now as I prepare to get back into routines with the kiddos, we are doing back to school shopping, getting all the cool new food-making gadgets, meeting the teachers and helping them pick out new clothes and shoes. I really enjoy this time of year! It also means Fall is on the way!!!! But for now, I'm going to leave this post of some of our summer memories. Just a little spot to remember summer 2022 and how much fun we had!!

Saturdays with the Horses

It seems like horse lessons are the only place we go to these days. For awhile Scarlett's horse lessons were cancelled because of Corona Virus. But they have resumed now with restrictions. So we love spending our Saturday mornings at the stables. Sometimes we bring breakfast and eat it there while we watch Scarlett ride. Other times we take walks around and watch Maxwell find all the cats to pet or horses to talk to. A new baby foal was born not long ago and Maxwell made friends with her. I'm pretty sure that this is the last time I will be able to wear faux fur for along time. The weather is now into the high 80's so I took advantage of this chilly morning.

Weekend Vibes: Gender Reveal, Pharm Table & Little Victories

As most of you already saw weeks ago, we revealed we are having another baby girl!! We did a small reveal with the kids with a confetti popper and their reactions were priceless! You can see them on my Instagram Story Highlights: Baby #3. Their reactions are exactly how I expected them to be. And shortly after, I started getting out of the house for the first time in a long time. Which felt great after being confined to the house for months. We just did small trips like brunch or grabbing coffee and going to Walmart for toilet paper and paper towels....lol. My favorite store! Can you hear my sarcasm? Or bringing the kids for a treat. But even these small things seemed like a huge victory. As the sickness slowly subsided, I started to feel myself come back. Such a relief to be able to have some motivation again!!
Now comes the time for "catching-up". I'm catching up on documenting life here, catching up on settling into the new house and eating better, catching up on being a mom to Scarlett & Maxwell...and let's be honest, a wife too. I can't say I've been much of any of those titles the last few months.

Now it's time to prepare for baby girl. I don't know why but I'm so far behind on getting anything for the baby this time around and I don't feel a bit of stress about it at all. I know I will get what I need in time. By baby #3 I feel like I know exactly what I will need. Anyhow, I have a lot of blog posts that I have scheduled for the next week or two so stop by often and read more if you care to follow along this journey of ours :)

Weekend Vibes: The Cove, Hiking & Matching with The Babes.

Weekends lately are just me hanging out in my sweats, unpacking and online shopping. Not very exciting... so I thought I'd share these photos from about a couple weeks after I found out I was pregnant. I had not yet hit the SICK phase yet and we were taking advantage of what little weekends we had left before that and the heat hit. Because I knew both would. The Cove is a little place in San Antonio that serves organic food and has a great play area where the kids can play outside. They often have live music as well. We had some good food and watched the kids play. We also did a hike that weekend. During the summer, you have to get up really early to hike here in Texas or you will surely die of heat stroke.... ;) So we got up and went hiking at 7:30am to beat the heat.

I'm really looking forward to when I can have fun-filled weekends again with my family. After the move, after the heat calms down (it's been a 106-8 heat index for days now...) and after school starts and the kids settle into their new schools we will get back to doing some adventures again. I just don't feel completely myself yet. The nausea has subsided for the most part but I think I really need to dive back into working out 5 days a week. And I really need to be able to get outside! Right now it's like winter in NY. I'm getting cabin fever from having to stay inside! And the strange thing is the kids and I were all sick about 3 different times in June and July. It's like we are lacking vitamin D because they don't let the kids outside to play for recess when it's this hot and we just can't really get outdoors.  I'm paler now than I've been all year! Especially me feeling hot constantly now that I'm pregnant. I just need to have a daily power walk and let my soul partake in some good adventure. So for now, I'll keep dreaming of cooler weather and adventures while I go unpack up the rest of my house. I hope you all had a great weekend!
