Maxwell 's 7th Reptile Birthday Party

We had the best time celebrating our fun boy turning 7!! It was all about the reptiles this year. I always have fun planning parties. We like to change it up. Some years we do parties and some years we do travel/experiences. Maxwell had been asking for a friend party so we decided to throw him something special. As you can see by the photos... they all had an amazing time. Thankful for all the friends who came by and helped us celebrate!!

Scarlett's Whimsical 2nd Birthday

This year, I really didn't want to do a big party like I threw last year. I just wanted to have family, a couple of kids and a cookout to celebrate Scarlett turning two. Soooo, that's exactly what we did. Of course, I'm a sucker for small details and small party or not, I wanted some cute decor and a couple of fun activities.

I decided I would throw her a whimsical party with white bunnies, fresh flowers, spring colors and some flowing fabrics. I picked a couple of spring activities, (planting spring seeds and chalk fun) that I will go into detail about in later posts, But the real hit of the party was the gift Ty and I bought Scarlett. We bought her a water/sand table that I almost didn't get her since I wasn't sure if she would like it. I'm glad I did! We weren't planning on bringing it out until present time, but it was just too nice of a day to not include some water! Good decision.....The kids spent the majority of the time at that little table, occasionally stopping for cupcakes or food.

Scarlett was thrilled with everything. Overwhelmed, even. Our family and friends gave her wonderful gifts. She hasn't even gotten through all of them yet! They will keep her busy for quite some time! I feel so lucky to have such a loving family that made it all the way from Massachusetts to celebrate with us. And for great new friends that we've met here. The best part of the party.....For me, it was when Scarlett smiled as we sang Happy Birthday to her and then, she pursed her little lips together and blew out her candle for the very first time.....I think I may have gotten a little teary. I can't believe my baby is 2!! We took so many photos that I was completely overwhelmed with sorting through them. But I think I picked a good variety to show you how much fun we had this weekend!

Some Birthday Party Inspiration.

Scarlett's 2nd Birthday is approaching in May. Last year, for her first birthday, I threw her a large Vintage Carnival Party.
This year, with so much going on, we don't have time or the money to go all out. But, I'm still going to give her a small party with a very cute theme. To the Pinterest boards I go. I have a few ideas in mind.

Any of you have any kids birthday parties lately? I'm in need of some inspiration. Let the ideas roll......

In Our New Home: Holiday Dinner Party

It's 6 am.
I'm awake with coffee in hand, gazing out the window as I sit at our kitchen table.
For the first time in a month, I feel like I can breathe.............

This feels wonderful!
We are finally all moved into our new home. Things are unpacked & clothes are actually in the closets.
I can find my curling iron without digging through boxes & all of our plates are stacked neatly in the cabinets.
What an amazing feeling it is to relax a bit.
The last week was a whirlwind. We moved all of our belongings from not 1, not 2 but 3 different houses in two different states, to our new home. Then we unpacked, bought groceries, wine & other entertaining bits, decorated & hosted a fabulous Holiday dinner party all in one week's time.
Kudos to Ty & I. We did it.

My family came to celebrate the holidays with us. We decided to hold it on Sunday instead of Christmas eve, so that everyone could make it. My sisters arrived on Saturday morning. My parents and Ty's family showed up on Sunday for our dinner party. We have had such a great time and I'm sad to see them leave today. Two fried turkeys, punch, a bowl of egg nog, and a boat load of food later, we were all stuffed & contently visiting together in laughter.

I am so very thankful for our new home & all of the ones we love who came and stayed with us this weekend.
Today, I am curling up on the couch and watching Christmas movies all day.
I wish you all have a wonderful Christmas eve and a Merry Christmas!!!

A wonderful insight on Christmas here.
